It details how to build birdhouses of the proper size for our cavity nesting birds. It details nine local driving trips, and where and when you are most likely to find birds. Most important, it contains an annotated list of all the birds reported in Bay and Gulf counties since the middle 1930s. Species shown in parentheses are very rare in occurrence and warrant careful documentation.
Symbols indicate abundance and seasonal incidence in appropriate habitat:
C - common or abundant, U - uncommon, R - rare, and X - accidental: p - present all
year, w -predominantly in winter, s - summer resident, and t - seen during fall and
spring migrations or after strong storms.
